Work hard play hard is in full swing here in Orlando.

What goes hand in hand with Florida? GATORS! Gators are on the agenda today BUT FIRST we hit up Kissimmee Muscle Gym again for our GASP and Better Bodies meet up and have Jeremy Potvin, Ahmad Ahmad, Irene Andersen, Samir Troudi and Olivia Gravengaard here to meet and train with everyone who is in town for the week and Olympia weekend.

After work hard is play hard. We haul ass to Wild Willys boat tours and cruise the Florida everglades in an airboat. Tons of Gators are in and around the boat and the team gets a thorough education about these American alligators.

Day 2 of the Orlando Iron World Tour produced a massive appetite and GASP CEO Michael Johansson cooks up our favorite wagyu beef from Local Yocal and we end the day with a huge toast to continued success and work hard play hard , NO EXCUSES mentality.

Guy Cisternino is back on the Mr. Olympia stage.

Guy admittedly has had a string of "bad luck" with the burns, then double shoulder surgery and then prequalified in 2019.

If you all have been following along, Guy recently teamed up with John Meadows when it comes to how he trains.

Guy has always had a super intense approach to training and has found a comfort zone in method to lifting that wasn't yielding the best results at times. He has started implementing certain techniques via his programming from John Meadows that 1. is a lot more efficient at stimulating the muscle without training until the wheels fall off and 2. conserving energy to focus on all-out top sets allowing Guy to use heavier weights instead of wasting energy on build up or what are essentially warm up sets.

Guy Cisternino - 1 Day Out From Olympia 2020

It's pedal to the metal here in Orlando with a few hours to go before the 2020 Mr. Olympia pre judging. Our athlete team including Guy Cisternino, Derek Lunsford, Shaun Clarida, Hunter Labrada and Irene Andersen are all zoning in to take the Olympia stage and give their best efforts to a perfect peak for this final showing in 2020.

The GASP and Better Bodies team hits up the Olympia expo to meet ambassadors, team mates and industry friends before linking up again at the world famous Kissimmee Muscle Gym.

After training and grilling up some steaks, the team settles in and watches Irene Andersen place 5th in the world with the return of the Ms. Olympia, Guy Cisternino successfully coming back to the Olympia stage with stellar size and conditioning, Derek Lunsford securing a top 5 placing again for the 3rd straight year and the Giant Killer Shaun Clarida winning the 212 Olympia! Huge congratulations to Shaun Clarida. This was a truly earned victory!

This Iron World Tour has been massively successful in spreading the community vibes, love of training and the NO EXCUSES mentality.

The one word to describe Shaun Clarida's 2020 Olympia victory.

Shaun has made a lifestyle of being hungry and asking himself why not. Why not bodybuilding. Why not an overall win. Why not a national win, a professional win. WHY NOT THE MR. OLYMPIA TITLE.

It's been a 16 year, relentless journey but the Giant Killer "beat everyone fair and square" and is not enjoying his first Mr. Olympia victory with his camp!

Shaun Clarida 2020 Mr. Olympia and His Team Interview

It has been non stop action this week in Orlando. The week has culminated into an epic and historic Olympia weekend in many ways.

Shaun Clarida truly showed up and earned his first ever 212 Mr. Olympia victory. Hunter Labrada made his Olympia debut with an awesome 8th place finish in what has to be the toughest line up in recent Olympia history. Jeremy Potvin returned to the Men's physique Olympia stage with a top tier finish as well.

Branch Warren, Guy Cisternino, Keone Pearson, Samir Troudi and the whole GASP and Better Bodies team made plans to meet up at several gyms and meet up with friends and ambassadors of bodybuilding and anything iron related.

It has been a super fun and productive week thus far and lots more to come!

Iron World Tour - We Are A Team

The Iron World Tour and 2020 Mr. Olympia in Orlando has come to an end but the journey continues.

Where passion meets purpose is the sweet spot for success. Branch Warren explains that he aspired to do more and be more and the affinity for bodybuilding and being process driven was the key.

This week in Orlando we brought some of the inner team, some of our key athletes, ambassadors and friends to take over Orlando by way of training meet ups, airboat tours and all the Olympia outings that come with the Olympia weekend.

The trip was a great success and a catalyst for bigger and broader plans to come.

We hit the ground running with guests flying in to build on the momentum from 2020.

Here, hybrid athlete, Kaged Muscle CEO, world renowned trainer and long time friend of GASP and Better Bodies Kris Gethin comes to Dallas for a few days and links up with Hunter Labrada on his hamstring focused leg day.

We get to know Kris for the first time for some of you and get some insight to who Kris is during this video. In the opening of this video Kris speaks on how important it is to NOT compare yourself to others but instead be inspired by how others excel and see how you can apply or incorporate to your own life and run with it.

Hunter also sheds some light on sticking to the "unsexy" basics and how being ultra anal on tracking progress on said basics can reduce drastic results over time. It is never a quick fix when it comes to bodybuilding or anything worth achieving. Time and consistency is always key!

Kris later links up with GASP and Better Bodies CEO Michael Johansson for an in depth chat on Kris's upbringing and many pursuits in life and also catches a back training session the following day with a rejuvenated and HUNGRY Guy Cisternino.

So stick with the you vs you mentality and realize your own max potential.

No matter how many obstacle, set backs or times you get knocked down, you keep coming back until the goal is met. That is relentless.

Guy Cisternino has had his share of said obstacles and set backs and is finding himself here in 2021 without most of the pain he has had in the past in his shoulders and back embarking on a great offseason with a new training regimen from John Meadows.

Kris Gethin and Guy link up for a back workout at destination and then later visit GASP and Better Bodies CEO Michael Johansson's house for an ice bath. Ice baths are one of Kris Gethin's favorite bio hacks that contribute to recovery in a few ways. For more information on ice baths give Kris a follow.

Kris and now Guy are of the mindset that you're only as good as your recovery allows you to be.

What does it take to really change your life?

You are going full blast in one direction for years. Heaving around an extra 200+ pounds with the low energy levels that go with that is not really a new burden, its your normal day in and out. All of a sudden you hault, do a complete 180 degree turn and go the other way...

Jake Brucker weighed 420 lbs and was at a birthday party with his 2 boys. The time came to have a race with his kids as part of the celebration festivities and he couldn't physically do it.

 has made the 10,304 miles he has traveled since December 14th well worth it. On the 14th of December just after landing in the United States from Dubai, Samir jumped in the back of CEO Michael Johansson's truck and headed to Orlando for the GASP, Better Bodies and Destination Iron World Tour stop in the sunshine state.

While in Orlando Samir quickly became an integral part of the team by not only fulfilling his duties as an athlete but also helping the team as we took on Orlando and the Olympia like no one ever before. As we shot content, visited local gyms, and invited guests for dinner, he was right there in support of the brand and the athletes competing during the week.

The GASP, Better Bodies and Destination Iron World Tour Orlando concluded on December 21st and the team along with Samir headed back the home base in Allen Texas, but that wasn't the end of Samir's trip to the U.S. From mid December until mid January, Samir made every moment of his 4 weeks spent with the brand and the team count. From training at Destination with 

, getting the usual heavy dose of hospitality all athletes get from Michael Johansson, ice bath led by 

, and even having the opportunity to sit in on a few product meetings and provide his valued perspective.

As the Swedish born Son of Sahara makes his way back to Dubai we hope he will look fondly on the time he spent at Destination and with the team. We are glad to be included in his journey, and we are looking forward to seeing Samir again soon!

I am thrilled to present to the GASP community another interview with one of my star students, and veteran GASP ambassador, Mark Durando. He had quite an exciting year in 2020 and established himself as a real “force” in the NPC Classic Physique division. I sat down with him to discuss how the 2020 competitive season turned out and what is ahead for 2021.

 So, this was some big year for you! A victory in both bodybuilding and classic physique at the NPC West Coast Classic, and then a 5th place in a stacked lineup at the USA’s! How do you feel?

 Yes, this was a big year for me as I left my “mark” at both the NPC West Coast Classic and the USA. Earning first place in both Classic Physique and bodybuilding (at the WCC) was a huge accomplishment for me personally. I have placed in the top 5 several times, but never earned a victory – let alone two at a single show! As for the USA, when I was in first call out, I knew I had a shot at a top placing and fought as hard as possible. When I heard my name called in 5th, I was literally overjoyed!

 What major improvements do you feel you made in 2020 that launched you to this higher level as an athlete in the NPC?

 The MAJOR improvements I feel I made would be my combination of size and condition all around. I have been bigger, but not as ripped, and also very hard, but not as full. This time I had the best combination of each. I added size to key areas like my back, chest and shoulders, while at the same time reducing the size of my waist.

 Looking back, you really began preparing for shows from early 2020, and literally dieted all year long because competitions kept getting cancelled and moved. How did you manage

 Honestly, it was the toughest thing I have ever done in my bodybuilding career. Every time the WCC was canceled and moved to a later date, it really tested my mental toughness. It was frustrating having a plan with my coach and then constantly having to alter it. However, I knew I could not and would not quit because I was incredibly determined to crush my best ever look onstage.

 The first time you competed at the NPC USA, you did so in the bodybuilding division, and placed 13th out of about two dozen competitors. This past December you jumped into the top 5 in the classic division. First of all, how exciting was it to hear your name for the initial callout at prejudging? And second, are you leaving the bodybuilding division entirely and focusing only on classic?

 Oh man, I was on fire when they called me to the line-up for first call outs. At that moment, I was on cloud nine and already feeling like I had won by just getting to that point. As of now, yes, I will focus entirely on Classic Physique not stopping until I get my pro card and then making it one day onto that Olympia stage.

 David Bourlet, who is the content manager and videographer for Jay Cutler TV mentioned to you while filming an episode of “B Built by Broser,” that you made more improvements in 2020 than you have in any previous year. With all the craziness – gym closings, food shortages, etc. – how did you manage this?

 In my mind, the year 2020 came down to three options: 1) Throw in the towel entirely

and focus on the following year, 2) Keep going while allowing the events of the year keep me from being my very best, or 3) SUCK IT UP AND PUSH FORWARD with 100% drive, discipline, dedication and focus – simply letting nothing stand in my way. Obviously, I chose number 3. Besides, you (my coach) would not have let me pick any other option except for the third!

 Looking at your posing routine at the USA this year, it is obvious that you work extra hard on this aspect of preparation. Who are your inspirations as far as posing go, and why

do you feel presentation onstage is so important even though the posing round is not really judged?

 One thing you have always taught me, and that I personally feel, is that posing is an art, and should be treated as such – and this goes especially for the Classic Physique division. I have many inspirations in this arena, but the first names that come to mind are Lee Labrada, Mohamed Makkawy, Bob Paris and Frank Zane. I believe that this sport is one of passion, and that posing is the most profound way we can show the world what all the hard work is for

 So, the Olympia has just recently passed, and Chris Bumstead repeated as the winner. Do you feel he deserved it? Who do you think the biggest threat to his crown will be in 2021?

 First, I have to say that Chris (Bumstead) showed us all why he is Mr. Olympia. He made huge improvements between 2019 and 2020 Olympia, and really is an incredible representation of what “Classic” should look like. As for 2021, I think Chris’s biggest threat would be Terrence Ruffin, because he is an amazing poser and another great example of what this division is all about.

 Talking about 2021, what goals have you set for yourself? What do you want to improve upon in terms of your physique? Additionally, do you feel confident that you have a shot of

 For me, I need to focus mostly on width. I will work hard to widen both my shoulders and back so as to create a more impressive “X-frame.” I also want to continue to “refine” my physique, bringing about even more detail and maturity. And without a doubt, I want to bring a posing routine that will have the audience on their feet!

 Just like myself, you basically “live” in GASP clothing! As an athlete and ambassador what new things would you like to see GASP come out with this year?

 Oh wow, that’s a tough one. When I think about it, I would love to see GASP come out with more styles of hats and some unique patterns for all of their clothes. But number one on my list would be some GASP sneakers for the gym! That would be so cool!

 Final question (for now). If you and I got to visit Destination Dallas for a single workout, what body part would you want to crush while there?

 Ha! I knew that would be your choice! Thank you Mark for taking the time to talk to me. And as your coach, all I can say is --- LET’S DO THIS!

All of the above mentioned is useless if you don't believe in your gut that its possible.

Shaun Clarida, by "normal" standards should never have won the 212 Olympia title.

For doubters, naysayers and skeptics Shaun is without a doubt too small to even dream of going pro, winning pro contests, qualifying for the Olympia or WINNING the Olympia.

Somewhere along the way in development, some people get tricked into conforming, giving the bare minimum and striving for mediocrity. They adopt external negativity until it becomes a part of them and then settle.

Shaun Clarida has never adopted this mindset.

We are super stoked that Shaun truly earned this victory and maintains his humble and even underdog mentality.
