Homecoming 2024

Hunter had a breakout year at the 2021 Mr. Olympia finishing in 4th place (qualifying him for 2022 as top 5 are automatically qualified) giving him a whole year and a much longer growing/improvement phase prior to the contest prep phase.

Although Hunter and his team were able to add a significant amount of muscle to his frame, including further improving his back, it wasn't as pronounced and noticeable as anticipated going in to this years Olympia.

Here, Hunter unpacks the last 6 weeks and how the Olympia weekend went, how he is dealing with it and what to expect in 2023.

The Arnold Classic has always garnered a world class, stellar roster of top tier pros. This is the best of the best with bodybuilding and classic physique Olympia champions throwing their hats into this years competition.

It is no easy feat to prepare for, compete and win at this level. We have followed Brett, Divine and Darwin for the last few weeks of prep and now its time to show up.

The whole purpose of these trips: it doesn't matter where you go or what country you call home, that love for bodybuilding and training is the common ground. Everyone has a seat at this table literally and figuratively. The bodybuilding and fitness community is united for the love of this sport and lifestyle and that is why we do these things. If you are willing to put the work in, you are welcome here.

No one owes you a damn thing but you can have anything if you're willing to put the work in.

This is part 2 of our Iron World Tour during the Arnold Classic weekend. The team drove and flew in to support our athletes Brett, Divine and Darwin as they competed in the event. We trained at Olympus Athletic Club, American Barbell and Metro Fitness and all got together to eat and have watch parties of the Arnold Classic events.

Iron World Tour: COLUMBUS Part 2

The Iron World Tour never stops. This time we set out from Dallas, Texas to Las Vegas, Nevada. This first leg of the trip we made it to Albuquerque, New Mexico. We stopped at the Big Texan to fuel up and check out the world famous home of the "FREE" 72oz steak.

After that we take on some really wacky changing weather, from 40-50 mile per hour gusts to sand storms and finally make it to New Mexico. We check in the hotel, eat and head to train at Iron Soul.

The purpose of this particular trip is to break away from the business as normal routine, have some legit fun and scout this route for gyms and sites that we want to bring the team to when the Olympia returns to Las Vegas this December.

As this is being posted we have made it into Las Vegas and will be checking out Flex Lewis's Dragon's Lair, Hide and Iris's Powerhouse Gym, flying into the grand canyon via helicopter and sharing our work hard play hard philosphy.

Iron World Tour : Texas to New Mexico

The Iron World Tour is 24/7 for all of us.

Here we finally get to Las Vegas and chow. Over the weekend we hit up Flex Lewis and trained at The Dragon's Lair. NO EXCUSES

We scheduled some epic things to experience as part of our work hard play hard philosophy including taking a helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon, visiting the Petrified Forrest and checking out Pioneer Saloon and Red Rock Canyon.

We also, catch Higetada Yamagishi over at the awesome Powerhouse Gym Las Vegas the second time we trained there this trip. It was a great reminder of the network and community you build.

We will have our Olympia week house here in Las Vegas as typical for the last 2 years. Hop to catch you in and around the party.

The Arnold Classic was an awesome experience for Brett, Ivana and the entire GASP and Better Bodies family. The energy, the people and the community as a whole felt like a revived rendition of itself with genuinely ecstatic energy to get back together.

Smiles For Miles | A Day At Eagles Canyon Raceway

The Real Bodybuilding Podcast crew had a helluva 4 day weekend here at destination. Here is an excerpt from the podcast and ties together the training, camaraderie and raw unfiltered moments.

Associate yourself with people who share your core values and dont waiver on it. If your circle doesn't push you to get better it'll make you stagnant, comfortable and complacent.

Fouad Abiad, Guy Cisternino, Brett Wilkin, Ben Chow, James Hollingshead and Iain Valliere "bust each other's balls" but share a bond that is rare these days. Real friends call each other's bullsh.t, make you eat your excuses and are essential in helping you overcome set backs.

GASP and Better Bodies CEO Michael Johansson links up with Dennis Wolf at the Wolf's Den in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dennis along with Gym80 have built an absolute unit of an outdoor training compound at Dennis's home with a crazy backdrop of the Las Vegas strip. Dennis explains that if he went the massive gym facility route in 2019 he would not be in a good situation now and in hindsight it has worked out better because "its more personal," it delivers a more intense experience in this context and stays closer to what he has imagined building.

"If I would not love it, I would not do any of this."

Dennis explains his passion for bodybuilding through the years has delivered a lot of personal satisfaction from executing on his own goals and also inspiring and motivating others. Now, being able to offer in-person training with this facility is how he really connects to people and still get this satisfaction from continuing bodybuilding.

What do you get when you take a gym, fill it with fitness fanatics and give them the chance to meet and train next to some of the most prominent competitors in the industry? Now, add a DJ, mechanical bull and even vendors. You would pay for that right? Well if you came the GASP & Better Bodies Meet-Up at Destination Dallas, you didn't have to. There were no tickets needed, no cover charge and no seats. We opened the doors to our community and invited them in to train and fellowship with like minded people and others with the passion for fitness.
