One of the aspects of culture is cuisine. Branch, Johnnie and Josh Bryant were game initially to try local cuisine to be good sports and we capture their sentiments on that and how they had to adapt here in China. Josh had no issues. He ate everything in true spirit or the Iron World Tour.

GASP is synonymous with hard work, no compromises and attention to detail. Here in this last leg of the tour, days are getting longer, traffic seems to be getting worse and patience is dwindling. That being said, Branch, and Johnnie, Michael Johansson, Nick Del Toro and Yang Liu keep the intensity high during training, meetings, appearances and seminars without EVER missing a beat.

Intensity Until The End – Johnnie and Branch Wrap Up China Tour

During our Iron World Tour China we linked up with Chinese Strongman Yue Yang, AKA “The Beast”.

Yue is, with coach Josh Bryants help, currently preparing for an international bench press competition in Russia in December. He says he has never felt stronger, so we are looking forward to seeing how it goes in December.

It has now been more than two months since we met up and Yue Yang reached out to tell us how the chinese visit affected him.

"Even though a few months has passed, it still feels like yesterday to me! I can still feel the nausea after the hardcore back training session with Branch Warren and Johnnie Jackson at my Beast Limit Power Gym. Most people here think that I train like an animal, but after that public session, they understood that there are some “crazy” people from Texas who train completely insane!

Thanks to GASP, Chinese people got to witness what REAL training is. People here go to the gym and they think they train hard, but they don’t. Many people can train hard once, but to give all that you’ve got every time you go to the gym, you need to have something special in your heart and mindset – like Branch and Johnnie. Throughout their whole careers and lives in general they have given it all, every time.

GASP Iron World Tour China made me realize that no matter where you come from or what language you speak, those who train hard, live a similar iron life. We train insane, we love heavy music, we eat big,  and we live life with a relentless attitude. For us, there is no compromise."

Catch Up With The Beast

GASP OG's Branch Warren and Johnnie Jackson head to the far east on a 4 city tour in China!

The love of the iron, the grit and grind is really booming in China and we are embarking on a 4 city tour over 9 days to bring you everything around Branch and Johnnie while they dive into the awesome Chinese culture.

In Beijing, we will visit the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and train at Beast Limit Power Gym.

In Hangzhou, we are going to visit the world famous West Lake, taste some Longjin Tea and try some delicious local food. We are also going to meet our partner Yopride and train at Western gym.

In Shanghai, we will visit the Bund, the Oriental Pearl Tower, meet our long time partner Global Fitness and then train at United Monster Gym.

Finally in Shenzhen, we are going to witness the fast development of China, meet our partner Jacked Sports and will see you guys at Da Ga Gym and train with legendary bodybuilder Liu Xing Gang.

The GASP Iron World Tour is 24/7/365 and by the common denominators of big ideas, relentless mindset and of course the love for the IRON, we foster a non conforming, non mediocre and hella non give a fuck lifestyle that doesn't stop!

Last April we set out with Guy Cisternino, Branch Warren, Shaun Clarida and Michael Johansson from USA to UK, Sweden and Denmark with the mission of learning unique history of each country, seeing every site possible, getting the back story and history of each gym, mixing it up with every single iron addict possible all the while continuing our own respective journey's and competitive/professional agendas.

"We are all about ideas. The bigger the better. However, the bigger require the intensity to work for them and the tenacity to roll with the punches and make it happen NO MATTER WHAT!"

GASP is not for everyone. It is only for the most dedicated, the hardest working and the most intense. The Iron World Tour was just that, hard work, intense and one helluva ride.

Iron World Tour Throwback 

Joe Robinson is preparing for the 2019 NPC Nationals. Here he is in Denver and at Armbrust Pro Gym for the Iron World Tour together with Branch Warren, Adam Young and Brett Wilkin.

When it comes to training Joe Robinson, thanks to his football and athletic background, has only one setting which is all-out volume, weight and intensity. When it comes to strategy Joe prioritizes upper chest placing incline movements first in his regimen.

This is Joe Robinsons full chest workout:

1. Incline dumbbell presses: 7 sets (3 warm up sets) 60lb x 10 reps, 80lbs x 10 reps, 100lbs x 10 reps, 120 x 10 reps, 140 x 8 reps, 150 x 10 reps, 170 x 9 reps

2. Hammer incline press: 3 plates x 12 reps, 4 plates x 12 reps, 5 plates x 8 reps (dropset to one plate for max reps on every drop)

3. Converging chest press: 4 sets x 15 reps (drop set on the last set)

Mile High Chest Training With Joe Robinson

Day two of Iron world tour Denver. We meet up at union station downtown Denver for breakfast then head out to Colorado’s great outdoors. First stop is the Red Rocks and outdoor amphitheater - home of some truly impressive rock formations and amazing outdoor concerts. Next is the grave site of Buffalo Bill. Then quick stop to fuel up at Tokyo Joe's (Denver is home to the original). And finally - training back and legs at Armbrust Pro Gym.

“It was cool man, I could train there everyday! The equipment and atmosphere for 1. The layout also. The fact that you have an entire leg room too, and it’s not a small room. “It’s beautiful out here. I’ve been to Arizona and California but as far as going sightseeing, this was very cool. It gives a new perspective and everything slows down. Everyone is used to the hustle and bustle then you come out here and everything slows down and you get that work-life balance that you need. I also see why Denver is one of the fittest cities in the country, because everyone is outside doing something (riding bikes, walking trails, climbing up mountains etc)."

We were just in Manhattan and then hit up the East Coast Mecca aka Bev's Powerhouse in Syosset, New York. Now we are in Englewood and Edison New Jersey with Derek Lunsford, Vlad Petric and Michael Johansson.

Thanks to the great recommendation from Vlad, we link up at Bobby Bournias Brownstone Pancake Factory. This place is world famous having been featured on national and international food television networks. Their claim to fame are the epic dishes, more notably the pancakes, desserts and amazing breakfast menu along the flawless attention to detail.

Michael Johansson, Derek and Vlad discuss the origins of the success of the Brownstone franchise and connect it to the enjoyment of the process similar to that of bodybuilding, powerlifting and any physique sport.

"I always say it's like a destination." Bobby referring to Brownstone becoming the place to be for all kinds of celebratory meals, not intending to create a pun connecting to ...destination, Dallas, Texas.

The common denominators between Bobby and the GASP crew were numerous and made it feel like "coming home" on our first visit to the Brownstone Pancake Factory.

After fueling up at Brownstone we haul ass to Edison, New Jersey to one of Guy Cisternino's home gyms Apollon Gym. Here the crew splits up and slang some iron in true no compromise fashion. Derek and Shaun are gearing up for the 2019 Mr. Olympia, Guy Cisternino was preparing for the Chicago pro and Tampa pro contests, Chris Pantano is full offseason mode along with Vlad still deep in his offseason preparing for his pro debut in his home country of Romania.

Like Coming Home - IWT New Jersey Recap

Last year we set out on an epic journey to China in our Iron World Tour with Branch Warren, Johnnie Jackson, Josh Bryant, GASP CEO Michael Johansson and digital media creator Nick Del Toro. The first stop was in Beijing and meeting China's strongest man Yue Yang aka The Beast.

In this motivational video The Beast gives some thoughts around what is strength as he prepares for a strength exhibition of pulling a one ton helicopter with just the use of his 2 arms.

 for a solid week of next level training, eating and experiences in Dubai.

Joe is smack dab in the middle of a very aggressive offseason. He is taking advantage and not wasting any time by utilizing a deadlift program from Josh Bryant and almost literally shoveling as many calories in as possible.

Mackey hit the ground running right off the plane to a heavy shoulder workout with Larry Wheels.

They both work up to a 315 military press and rep out.

Joe gets detailed with what he has coming up in terms of programmed lifts and offseason.

HEAVY & RAW - Joe Mackey Trains Shoulders with Larry Wheels

The Mr. Olympia weekend has changed to Orlando, Florida so we had to be super agile and change plans to take over Orlando with the Iron World Tour.

The GASP and Better Bodies team along with 13 Olympia competitors including Hunter Labrada, Shaun Clarida, Derek Lunsford, Jennifer Ronzitti, Samantha Jerring, Guy Cisternino, Divine Master, Irene Anderson, Ahmad Ahmad and Jeremy Potvin will all be either competing in the 2020 Olympia or taking over Orlando in the best way possible.

We will have a HUGE house near Kissimmee Muscle Gym in Orlando. We will be training every day, working hard and playing hard and you all are invited!

Iron World Tour Orlando

On November 29, 2020, Chinese Strongman and GASP athlete Yue Yang successfully challenged the double-arm-support helicopter landing at the Luzhou Aviation Flight Club in Beijing. Yue supported this 1.3 ton helicopter for 16 seconds continuously, setting a new strength challenge record.

Yue Yang is praised as the strongest man in China, and is the only person awarded the title of excellent athlete by the National Sports Administration of China. During this challenge, Yue Yang pushed the platform with his arms, and a 1.3-ton helicopter landed on the platform. He supported the helicopter on the platform with his arms and continued to support it for 16 seconds.

A great variety of people from various industries and companies came to witness the event. There weren't just fitness industry friends but also representatives from the car and train industry to mention some, along with various media. The publishing of this strength challenge triggered a wave of discussion on social media.

After successfully completing the challenge, Yue Yang gave an interview to the media, in which he said that as a practitioner of the Strongman Sports and a spreader of the strength culture, he would always love this sport and continue to help Chinese strength culture to reach the whole world.

During the GASP Iron World Tour China August 2019, Yue Yang signed with GASP as the brands first Chinese athlete.
